Tax on rent

Hi,
My boyfriend wants to pay me some rent for staying over 3-4 days a week and storing some of his stuff. We’d be sharing a room, but he’d have the main use of the spare room as his study/games/storage room. If I provide a small amount of furnishing for the study, say desk and sofa-bed, can I use the rent a room scheme to avoid having to pay tax on his contributions?
Thanks!

Don't worry about it.
This is a personal relationship sharing a home (albeit part time) and while he will be contributing towards costs, it's not a business/something you are doing to make money/normal lodger, so nothing to declare. It's not really different to if you were living together full time and sharing the cost of your home.Cash not ash from January 2nd 2011: £2565.:j

Any advice given is as an individual, not as a representative of my firm.0
