Hi,
Can anyone help please? I purchased a motocross bike on two credit cards 6 days ago and unfortunatly i have had it stolen today.
Is there any chance that it will be insured?
HSBC mastercard £3000
Santander mastercard £2800
I paid over the phone and then collected it later.
Thanks,
Rich.

Did you not have it insured yourself seperately. Where was it stolen from.
Only some cards insure goods. you need to read yur terms and conditions.
I presume the police have been involved.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
Hi no i have only had it a week and havent sorted any private insurance. i thought that if it was bought on a credit card that it would have some insurance. the police have been informed.0

Very unlikely.0

Nope, section 75 would cover it if it wasn't delivered, not having it insured was a little silly.0

Oh dear, looks like youre up a creek without a paddle.
Which credit card, have you looked at the terms and conditions yet.
Keep in touch with the police who may recover it, you never know.

No i cant find a set of terms and conditions. The police have been chasing the thief but unfotunatly got away.
Should i ring the bank and ask if i have any insurance on goods purchased with the credit cards and stolen in such a short time?0 -

You can, but I wouldn't expect a positive answer. Where was your bike kept? Unlikely, I know, but could it be covered under your household contents insurance?
Why on earth didn't you insure it?!? I don't understand why you would spend so much money (on credit cards, too!) and then take such a risk!....Practically Perfect in Every Way......:grinheart0 -
What about purchase protection insurance? How can I find out if my cards have it?0

Well since you can't find your T&Cs you're going to have to call HSBC and Santander tomorrow and either ask them the question or ask them to forward you a replacement set so you can check yourself. What about purchase protection insurance? How can I find out if my cards have it?
Maybe you could spend some time checking their respective websites in the meantime?0
