Hi All,
I received an email stating I was the winner of this competition:
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4254375
however it says it was to be drawn on Wed 31st Oct and the prize to be taken on Thurs 1st Nov (which was fine I was able to go). I received an email from the PR company at 10.40am on the 1st Nov asking if I was still ok to come along (no date was mentioned on the email when the prize was for but after looking back for the thread and link on here I could see it was for the 1st Nov) but like a lot of us I work and not able to check emails until I get in from work so didn't read the email until 8pm that night; I emailed the PR company back that same night and asked which date it was for (that was Thursday evening) and to date have still not received a reply from them (even though I know now it was for the same date that they emailed me). The show finished last night for its run too
Do you think it was slightly unfair to email me on the same date the prize was to be taken or is it just one of those things? (The form doesn't ask for a phone number so if they had that I would have had a chance maybe) If only they'd emailed me the night before I could have taken it!
Any feedback welcome

Perhaps you weren't the first winner but the winner couldn't go for some reason or the other so they were going down the list and needed an instant answer. I don't know (hugs)SECRET TO WINNING PRIZES

Hi. Well done on the win. Too bad you weren't able to use the prize. Unfortunately, I think if they stipulated the draw date and date the prize was to be taken it was a fair deal.
I recently got a WEM for concert tickets just hours before the concert was to take place. It was too last minute and I couldn't go
Ah well, just happens sometimes.
Good luck with future comps!0 -
I had this happen recently too, I won a pair of tickets to a horror festival opening night which I would have loved to have gone to, being a massive horror fan, but they only emailed me to let me know at 3pm on the day, and the event started at 7pm. As I was at work until 5 I just couldn't get there, sadly.
I don't think there's anything to be done about it though, I hardly ever enter competitions for events anyway but as this was horror I thought I would. It would be much better if they let you know the day before0
