I am wondering how MAs would know how good your credit it before deciding who to apply to for you. Do they do experian checks?

Ask you for a copy of your credit report?
Ask a series of questions about your credit history?
I dont do credit checks on customers, i ask them to get copies of their credit reports. They MAY get AIP/DIPs from lenders, but they need your permisson to do that as it can affect your credit score.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thanks for reply.
Leads me to another question, my MA has me a aip from Halifax.
this is based on borrowing amount, which he used their affordability calculator to estimate. He put my anticipated credit score as 'A'. How would he know to do this without a credit check? Or is it a guessing game?0 -
For info I do bank with Halifax. And MA asked me for my direct debit details if that's relevant at all?0

An experienced adviser takes a view on your potential credit score based on the information you provide.
