I've just bought one of these lamps from ebay - it was listed as new. It's been quite sunny here the past couple of days, and it's been in the sunniest room in the house, but it doesn't seem to work! Does anyone have any tips on how to charge it? Maybe it's us doing it wrong!

LUCY - Put the solar cell (they pop out easily) on the windowsill and leave it there for a day or so to recharge. That should give you enough to see if the lamp is switched on or off. If it's switched on it will continually drain the charge from the cell. Leave it turned off and keep the lamp in the light on the windowsill. That's where ours live permanently and they are always ready and fully charged when we need them. Hope that helps, Cheers Lyn.0

The instruction leaflet is available on the ikea website:

where it says Assembly instructions/download. Maybe it needs new batteries?0 -
They do need to be in direct light to charge up, but they're great when they get going - the other day I needed to do some wet plumbing work under my kitchen sink, and I could take one of my Sunnan lamps from the windowsill where it lives, under there & put it down, direct it exactly where I needed light & get the job done with no fuss, no flat batteries & no danger from trailing wires.Angie - GC April 25: £491.86/£500 : 2025 Fashion on the Ration Challenge: 21/68: (Money's just a substitute for time & talent...)0
