Quick way to defrost a Whole Chicken

Anyone got any ideas, It is a 1.2kg and ideally could do with it ready to go in the oven about 6pm. Forgot to take it out yesterday

Keep it wrapped and submerge it fully in a big bowl of cool water. Change the water regularly and it should be defrosted by 6pm but check the inside to be sure.

1.2kg is only a small chicken...it'll defrost on the kitchen sink by 6pm. Immerse in water if you want to hurry it up or zap it in the microwave.

Thanks All. Yes I live by myself so never no need for a massive chicken. Enough for a small Sunday dinner tonight and the rest for mexican rice and chicken for lunch tomorrow and some mexican chicken bean soup for lunch on Tuesday.

    Tumble dryer????

I only did it with chicken breasts, but I can imagine it working the same.. I freeze my already in freezing bags, so I would put it in the bag if it isn't in one now, and then submerge in cold water. We get REALLY cold water our of our tap, so I usually put a little warm water in it too.
Chicken breasts defrost like that within an hour.
