I don't know if this is the right thread, but we are decorating our bathroom - green and cream.
I have some nice clear glass decanters, and would like to display them but with green coloured liquid in them. Rather than buy green bath foam or oil, can I somehow colour water.
Would food colouring do it or wold it sink???
Aprreciate your comments and suggestions
Thanks

Yes I have done this with food colouring and it has worked well, just pour some into the water and give it a swirl0

You can also buy liquids to colour oil for use in oil burners. I get them from myu local hardware shop.
Probably not as cheap as food colouring, but a little goes a long way.0 -
You'll probably want to add a splash of bleach to it too. Otherwise the water will end up going manky.0

I wouldn't think so. I guess the OP can try it.0 -
crepe paper will colour the water & it seems to stop it going 'yucky' too
My Mum had some of those '7o's glass balls in a mesh things & they recommended crepe paper!
Just dip it it the water until you get the desired colour....only need a little to get quite a strong colour. At 15p? a pack its probably cheaper than food colouring too...
Let us know how you get on.....I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0 -
:rotfl: LOL
I often need to grow green algae for lessons, and if you just stand the water on your windowsill for long enough it will go green all on it's own!!!
