together for trees - green points taken automatically

Has anyone else had their green points automatically donated to the Tesco Together for Trees thing? I just received my statement and all my Green Points have been donated. According to the website you have to 'opt-in' for them to do this. I definitely did not do this and have checked my account but they have done it automatically. I know it is only 30p worth of points but it is the principle! (Yes, I probably would have given them but would have liked to be asked.)

Maybe the coupon for 'Together for Trees' was in amongst other coupons that you had scanned - hence you opted in.
To make sure it doesn't happen next time - you'll need to opt out.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
If they did it with a coupon scan that is very sneaky! There is no opt-out, only opt-in. As I said, doesn't really matter as it is all 'free' anyway just a bit annoying.:hello:0

How sneaky? You get a coupon sent to you probably with some info about the charity, if you weren't interested don't hand over the coupon.
If you wish to 'opt out' easy - either via on-line - myclubcardaccount under 'my preferences' or for them.
They have been coupons in the past where once scanned it deducts 100 points which transfered as a donation to the Tesco Charity of the Year, again if any body didn't want to donate - don't scan the coupon.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0 -
I most definitely havent used a coupon in a very long while yet today reading my clubcard statement I have found that tesco has deducted my green clubcard points to together for trees- I wouldn't have had a problem either with doing this however because of the underhand way tesco have done this I have now opted out. Sneaky sneaky tesco!!!!!0

Thanks chooz - good to know I'm not the only one!
And No1catman - check the preferences yourself - there is no opt out.
I do read the coupons before I scan them and there was none with any mention of trees on them. So, if they have taken this from a scanned coupon with hidden terms then it is 'sneaky'.:hello:0 -
When I log in to my Clubcard account and click on preferences, I can opt out of the "Together for Trees" points donation. Like others, I had been mysteriously opted in since my last statement. When I queried this with Clubcard, they assured me that I must have chosen to opt in. I didn't. I'd never even heard of Together for Trees.0
