Hi all,
I've got an American recipe for chocolate chip walnut cookies I fancy trying. It calls for 2 'sticks' of butter - does anyone know how much this is?
Thanks.

A stick of butter is half a lb. A lb is 454g, so 2 sticks is pretty much a 500g pack.Trying to be a man is a waste of a woman0

Anyone know how much a tablespoon of butter is? I come across it in American recipes sometimes. I treat is as an ounce but no idea if that's right.0

Hello, I've just googled both questions and an American stick of butter weighs 4oz. The same site said 1oz of butter is the equivalent of 2 American tablespoons, so 1 tablespoon is 1/2 oz butter. Hope that helps, Cheers Lyn.0
