Very happy for you rhianna
Best of luck with your job 0 -
At the risk of people wanting to shoot me. . . . . . Don't do it!
Turn the job down.
Time with little ones is too precious and can not be reclaimed.
Working nights and then seeing to small ones will be too draining.
Struggle and penny pinch because when you get to my age .... well just think about it.0 -
Congratulations,i currently work the role you were considering,i have 3 children all over age 11 and still find nights challenging, filling shelves at night for 8 hours a night takes a huge toll on your body :(think you made the right choice:beer:My body clock is so messed up and ive done the role for several years.0

Glad you found something more suitable, I currently work 2 nights a week (Fri and Sat) for a Supermarket filling shelves, I do from 10pm until 6am, the time goes very quickly but they expect you to put so much stuff out so don't think they'll keep me on past the 12 weeks but won't be upset if they don't. It is rather tedious especially when on the same section all the time. I have 3 children 8, 7 and 4 and I sleep when I get back as OH is here on weekends and I catch up on sleep during the week when they are at school.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160

Can I offer an alternative viewpoint ?
Try it and see. If all the problems you imagine are real and it is not feasible to continue then cease. I assume you are not on JSA or anything like that.
Maybe once with Tesco your actual Line Manager / supervisor is more reasonable / amenable to changing shift patterns or you find someone to swop who would prefer to work nights.
Also it's an old adage but true - 'it' always easier to find a job when you're in a job'
If working with Tesco's is bad then if you can, continue with them and carry on job-seeking. Any potential future employer viewes you as an employed person rather than unemployed and oh boy is there a world of difference.
Good luck0
