Bypassing agency?

Do you know anyone that works for this company? My old company liked to take recommendations from internal staff in return for a small lump sum if they stayed past so many months, to save money. They also worked with agencies and took direct cv's in.
Its worth a shot, you wont know until you try. I wouldnt mention the agency attempt in the letter, Id wait til interview stage when they ask how did you hear about this vacancy/company etc.
The only issue with direct cv's if its a large company, is it doesnt always get to the right department at the right time so can get lost in the system, where as CV's from the agency would come direct to me for my departement so got my attention right away. Still I personally would try the worst that can happen is you dont hear back, but at least you will have known you tried.
Good luckMFW

On the basis the agency havent informed you about the role or discussed it with you there is no harm in approaching the company directly.
Certainly some larger organisations do have all recruitment handled by external parties in which case your details may simply be blindly passed to them but in other cases the company may do some themselves or may look at your CV and ask the agency to handle you as they'd be interested in seeing you.0 -

Hello, just thought I would update - I had the telephone interview today and got loads of positive feedback from the interviewer. I passed it all and have a face to face assessment a week tomorrow which will include maths and literacy tests, as well as some role plays (which I'm pretty confident at!). If I am successful, its a start date on 10th December.
Thanks for all the positiveness and encouragement, I will keep you updated! x:j:jOur gorgeous baby boy born 2nd May 2011 - 12 days overdue!!:j:j0 -
