tesco grocery delivery texts

I do use tesco home delivery a lot and in general I like it. However, what is the point of the text you get about the delivery times? It's getting to the stage where when I book a 2 hour slot and they text narrowing it down to an hour, that I can expect the delivery to be during the other hour. Why do they bother texting in the first place? Perhaps its just my local store..

I suppose it's to give you a more accurate arrival time but really if I expect my delivery between 5-7pm say, I'm going to be in during that time period logically. I only really need a text if it's going to be delayed.0

If they just left it to the booked 2 hour slot that would be all that's needed. But they text and give a one hour window instead, which mostly is not stuck to. Why bother? Surely some would take that text as gospel and nip down to the shops or not come back till nearer that time? It must make things more difficult for the delivery driver.weight loss target 23lbs/49lb0

I only get a Tesco text informing me when my order can be amended up until. (I tend to get hourly slots from Tesco)
The only way of telling my Tesco groceries are coming is to check my avail balance. (by text)
Ocado always text (on the delivery day) with the drivers name and van name.0 -

Yup I agree, I got a text with an hour slot so I nipped out, presuming my other hour was now freed up, only to get a call on my mobile from the driver whose outside my house waiting to deliver !0
