Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd Nov. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Good Morning everyone .I had a great day yesterday at the Tower of London although there was quite a bit of walking and when I got home last night after a light supper I had an early night and an uninterupted sleep of 9 hours:eek: quite a record for me.Trouble is too much sleep really makes me heavy headed a bit.But at least my joints aren't quite so achy this morning .
The Tower was packed with children on half term and I don't think I have seen so many tourists I think the Olympics worked well in bringing the foreign visitors in to the UK .The boys had a great time and the Beefeaters were brilliant and do a tour every half an hour around to show you different things and its free which is even better:D
We took two rucksacks with picnic stuff in and my DD and Son-in-law were the 'donkeys' Just as well as the prices of food and drink were astronomical. We all enjoyed ourselves which was the most important thing though.Today I am going to the hairdressers later on for a trim as I am vanishing behind a mop of hair .DD has booked it for the both of us and the lass that cuts it does it from home as she is now a SAHM with her little boy.She used to work in the local salon but when she had to give up because of her small son she set up at home which means a trim, including tip is only aroud £9.00 very good value I think. This afternoon I will pop up to my eldest DDs house to make sure all's well and tidy for her homecoming tomorrow.DGD Holly has been looking after the place and has done a rather good job considering she has never done it before so I may take her out for a bite to eat as a suprise.
Children back to school next week apart from the youngest as he has two inset days tacked onto his half term so I will be looking after him on Monday and Tuesday for the day.I think we shall be doing some baking as he loves to cook biscuits and little cakes He says he wants to be a chef when he is bigger ,who knows he may be the next 'posh' chef around 2030 :DThe sky is just getting light and it looks a bit grey at the moment but at least its dry
have a good day everyone whatever you are doing
Take care

Morning all - I've been MIA for a couple of days but not much to report; just work/cook/sleep. Books to Oxfam today, picking up some of Lidl's American ice-cream on offer, and Mum has requested a chicken and leek casserole with dumplings for dinner. I'm going to sneak carrots in just to annoy DH
