Something definitely isn't right.
I have Ashampoo firewall and AVG virus prog and C/cleaner runs every start-up. I run Spybot and Lavasoft Adware on occasions (2-3 times per week) but STILL there appears to be something bugging the system.
Anyone make any suggestions?

Have you looked at Task Manager on the "Processes" tab and sorted by CPU to see what's eating the CPU?0
-
have you got lots of stuff on your desktop? Have you got lots of stuff loading at startup? How much memory and what processor have you got?0
-
Desktop fairly clear (20 or so icons)
Pentium 'D' 3.40Ghz
1.99Gb of Ram.
250 Gig HD
BROWNTOA Rootkit found nothing. killed Google and that does help.
When trying to send Emails using outlook I get this message. The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. Never had problems with sending Emails before.
What is ADTECH?
Where do I find the task manager/processes?
I also run Registry Mechanic evrery 2 weeks or so BTW."Unhappiness is not knowing what we want, and killing ourselves to get it."Post Count: 4,111 Thanked 3,111 Times in 1,111 Posts (Actual figures as they once were))Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.0 -
Task manager is control+alt+delete then processes
Try this:http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=133269
If you still have problems post a hijack this log
then defrag you harddrive0 -
press crtl alt + delete
this will bring up everything running on your pc and how much processor +memory each item is using0 -
do you have a auto responder on in Outlook, could just be a reply to a spam email , the address is made up ??
CTRL/ALT/DEL or right click on the bottom task bar brings up taks manager
some firewalls slow down PC's..zonealarm does for a start so it could be worth trying Kerio or Comodo
AVG has seemed to do it on some PC's of late..may be worth trying Avast ??Ex forum ambassador
