I have a house in Calpe, about 20 mins from Benidorm.

If you have kids then Terra Mitica is a must. The quietest, cleanest best value theme park I have ever gone to!

There is a huge hotel in Benidorm called Rio Park that does an amazing dinner buffet for peanuts! I think it is about £5 a head and really good. The chefs will be cooking a huge Paella fresh, and there must be a dozen choices of main course, everything from sausages to roast beef.

Take a trip to Guadalest if it is on offer, a lovely hillside village about 40 minutes inland.

The best market in the area is at Altea on a Tuesday, although Benidorm on Sunday is OK.

Benidorm is what it is, theme pubs and bingo, but if you stood on the beach and forgot what is behind you it is great fun and the most amazing value.
