Credit Checks and Mortgage Application

Hi,
We have recently sold our house. As our purchase fell through (vendors pulled out) we decided to go ahead with the sale and have moved into a rental with a view to looking again to buy in the New Year.
My question is whether having 2 credit checks from a mobile phone company in close succession is likely to have any impact on a mortgage application in a few months?
I set up a new phone contract last weekend which all appeared to be fine but have now found out that O2 issued me with a sim card number which is already in use by an existing customer.
Apparently the only way to rectify this is to return the phone but in order to reissue it they will have to repeat the credit check.
Not sure if I am worrying over nothing? My credit rating is excellent and the last thing I want to do is cause a problem with the mortgage , would rather just return the phone ....
Thanks for any advice

O2 is a bit of a pain in credit checks and I find there working a little odd. I have on couple of ocassions tried to buy O2 contracts through TescoMobile online shop and on both ocassions been declined. However going direct does not decline can you believe it?
A couple of credit checks like these does not cause much issues, so do not worry about them. Its business as usually.0 -
I think your worrying over nothing, it's multiple searches I think they are worried about such as applying for a lot of credit in a short amount of time.
We applied for a mortgage got accepted and then found a better deal elsewhere 2 months later (house fell through) and still got accepted despite the credit check on the first mortgage0
