Asda Price Guarantee query

Hi

I did a search and could only find posts from earlier in the year.

I've had two problems using asda price guarantee but the main one is:

1 I price checked before I went on Thurs 1 Nov and Tesco's had an offer on Seriously Strong Cheese 350g packs which were buy 1 get 2 free. As I was shopping in Asda I bought three of them thinking Asda will price match. They haven't price matched and said Tesco would have charged £9.86 and Asda charged £6 therefore they were cheaper. In actual fact Tesco are charging £4.93 for three. I rang Asda and one person told me they do match on multi buys and the problem is that its wasn't on mysupermarket when I shopped (unlikely as the offer was on from 31 Oct) but I need to speak to the price match team but they are busy. He gave me another number to call which went to the same dept and she said Asda do not match multi buys and the price match team are too busy to take calls.

Before I go off and write to them pointing out their mistake does anyone know if I am in the right asking Asda to price match this?

2 I've been shopping as Asda for a couple of weeks without a problem using my £5 off but using a larger store this week they are saying I can only use one voucher per person per day. I've been splitting my shopping into two £40 shops and stocking up on non perishables. This weeks vouchers say per transaction per day. I got round it by saying one lot of shopping was my daughter's as she was with me and the other mine. Has anyone else noticed this change or was it there all the time and my local one just let it go?

Thank you MSE's

I think the prices shown on mySupermarket are regional. Also the offers don't always show up correctly on mySupermarket

I looked when I first heard about this cheese offer. It was, and still is, showing buy 2 get 1 free so with Tesco charging £4.93 :rotfl: a pack it would be £8.86 for 3 packs. Asda (£3.00/ pack) would be £9.00 for 3.

Since Asda use mySupermarket to compare - no APG voucher.

Besides who wants cheese after all the recent offers :D

APG terms (bits below that may help)
    http://www.asdapriceguarantee.co.uk/Administration/Terms-And-Conditions.aspx

1a. Promotions which make it difficult for us to compare fairly are excluded from the ASDA Price Guaranteed

We obtain price data for the ASDA Price Guarantee as follows:
2.1 mysupermarket obtain prices (except Morrisons) from daily web scans of the Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose Home Shopping sites
    2.2 Morrisons prices are collected instore (by an independent agency) twice a week (Monday and Wednesday), and therefore unlike Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose, are only updated twice per week. Morrisons prices are collected in stores each week around Great Britain;
2.2.1 Prices are taken from the shelf price label for each product in Morrisons; If any product is sold out, then we'll still use the shelf price label. If however a product has a price marked on it, then the lowest price will be used for the comparison.
2.2.2 mySupermarket have audited the Morrisons collection process, and will only include comparisons that they are confident are accurate.
2.3 Where prices are found to be different across stores (in the case of Morrisons) or across website postcodes sampled (in the case of Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose), the most commonly occurring price is used.

All comparable products are included in the Price Guarantee (unless they are part of promotions which make fair comparisons difficult).

mySupermarket independently collect prices from the grocery home shopping websites of Tesco, Sainsbury's, Waitrose and Asda on a daily basis. Any item not included on ASDA.com will not be included in the Asda Price Guarantee or count towards the minimum requirement of 8 different items. Where the item is not stocked in a Morrisons store, or not available for comparison on the Tesco, Sainsbury's and Waitrose websites, the product is shown as 'not available' (N/A). mySupermarket regularly review and update the lines included in the ASDA Price Guarantee based on what is ranged and in stock at each supermarket.
