Hi All,
I have been looking for an engravable wrist watch as a gift for my Dad but have been unable to find any... well at a price we can afford anyway.
Does anyone know of anywhere that engraves watches? or if you can say buy a back to put on them (may be stretching it a bit here). We're looking to spend no more than £60 realistically, not sure if it's realistic for an engraved watch.
Did think about a pocket watch but we ideally want something he will use again.
TIA

Any watch with a metal back would be suitable for engraving - make it as cheap as you like! I've had watches engraved at Timpson: http://www.timpson.co.uk/services/67/engraving0

Hiya,
I'd say your best bet is to buy a watch separately and take it to a shoe repair type place, you know the type where they do key cutting and engravings too! As a guide, to engrave a tankard for my Grandfather it cost us £20 for 98 characters - they originally wanted £30 but I was feeling cheeky and offered £20 which they accepted. It was an independent local.
Call your local first to check that they do it and at what price!
Some high street jewellers also do engraving as you buy the watch, eg H Samuel is £16 for engraving a watch back, and they have some watches on sale at the moment http://www.hsamuel.co.uk/webstore/l/watches/recipient|him/price|on+sale/?Ns=P_Current_Price|0

Thankyou CompBunny, my son would like a pocket watch when he gets his degree, I hadn't thought of getting it engraved.

I too also look for the used Rolex wrist watches for my parents. Does anybody know from where to buy these types of wrist watches at affordable rates?0
