Jobseeker Direct Phone no.?

I've seen an advert for a little 2nd job I'd like to know more about on the jobcentreplus website. It says to call the Jobseeker Direct Phone number on the advert. Could anyone tell me whether this is an automated line or a person, and what they actually tell you (ie - details of person advertising?)

I'd much rather go into a jobcentre and talk to a person than spend ages on the phone to an 0845 number just to be told that I need to get an application form from the jobcetnre, or something similar.

It's a person all you need to give when they answer is your national insurance number and job reference number. jobcentre will have the details on their system but I have always been told to ring using the free phones at the jobcentre.

I wonder why a lot of jobs on JSD don't have application details? Are the JC making on the calls in some way?

More than likely! I often go onto indeed the day after a job is posted on the jobcentre direct site and they have all the application details on their.

Personally if you have the time go in, I called my local jobcentre a while back over a job, I used the local number not the 0845, the woman on the end of the phone was so snotty to me asking why i hadnt called it, I said because I am not paying extra to make this call when i can quite easily phone you, it nearly killed her to give me the details:p
