Aldi (nearest Lidl 10 miles away) - lack decent potatoes, I always go to Sainsbury's for their TTD Vivaldi ones - both salad potatoes and mashers/roasters.
Also their salad range is not very inspiring (but gradually improving!)
Overall. though, I do think their range of food is getting better and better."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
Over the years of shopping at Lidl & Aldi, I have just adapted to what they have in stock and then if I really need something they don't have, I will look for it elsewhere.0

I do 95% of my grocery shopping at Aldi but I need to visit one of the 'main' supermarkets for the following...
Bisto Best
Frozen Runner Beans and Frozen 'greens' in general
Worcestershire Sauce
Packet 'Smash'
Branded Catfood as my cat hates the pouches in Aldi
Dog food for the same reason
Its a shame really as I end up 'popping in' to Mr T for the above items and spending £50.....:mad:0 -
My local Lidl stocks very poor quality veg, most other prices compare with my local Tesco's apart from the semi skimmed milk which is 10p cheaper. I only go so I can look round the non food items which are mostly a load of rubbish, still I like a challenge and the chocolate isn't too bad.0

A few years ago we were, very suddenly, restricted to having to shop at local corner shops, a 'pop up' small supermarket or face over a 40 mile round trip to one of the main supermarkets.
We wondered how the heck we would survive - but we did! We quickly learned that we did not need the vast array of goods on display at mainstream supermarkets and started shopping for the things that mattered.
Almost 6 months later we again had normal access to supermarkets and I can't say I missed them. I now plan what we are going to eat over the next week and shop according to what we have access to!0 -
Nearly all of our local shops have closed mainly due to three Supermarkets opening in the local area, we are now left with a convenience store that few can afford to shop at so what do we all have to do yes you guessed it shop at the supermarkets.0
