How long do I need to keep informing people I was declared BR?

I can't seem to find a set answer for this!!

Does anyone know how long I need to keep informing people I was declared BR? I asked have I ever been declared BR do I always need to declare Yes? I was declared BR back in March 07 and discharged March 08!

I only ask because I am trying to sort Public liability insurance for a small business I am setting up and so far have been refused by some companies.

My BR was personal and not for a business

Thanks in advance

Forever and a day if asked that question. You don't have to volunteer it if not asked

if still undischarged then you do have to volunteer you are BR if you apply for credit over £500 anything below that figure you do not have to inform them, once discharged you do not have to say unless asked.

The OP has stated that discharge has already taken place

Well after 6 years is there really a way of them finding out? Since it will no longer be on your credit file.

Yes there is. The London Gazette for one, the Insolvency Service for another.

If you lie on a credit form and are found out then they could immedeatly withdraw that credit line which could cause a lot of problems.
