Apologies if this is the wrong forum but I'm seeking any advice on an issue I have at work relating to tax implications.
The company I work for want me to go to one of their other offices three days a week. This means staying in a hotel for two nights for which the company will pay. I don't mind the travel and the opportunity of the work, but what are the implications of me being taxed? I was thinking if it lasted longer than two years, would HMRC consider this as a benefit in kind (P11D)?

My understanding is that HMRC wouldn't see this as a benefit in kind; it's not a perk of the job to you, it's a requirement for you to do the job. See here under 'hotels and temp accommodation':

If I'm wrong I'm sure someone else will correct me!!
KiKi' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
I would double check their T&E policy, and how much you can claim for lunch and dinner.
Where I work, all the travel would be covered, lunch up to £10 and evening meal up to £27 inc a couple of drinks, and the hotel internet if it was charged.0 -
yep, it is just a business expense, I've been doing it for years, no impact on tax.0
