Silly gift to raise a smile ideas?

With grandparents failing health we could no longer carry on our traditional Christmas so I decided to start a new tradition of swapping a cheap gift on Christmas eve, if possible one that creates a laugh. 2 years ago I got tired eye cream in crackers (v.over priced but great asos discount) and I was given velvet knickers-I have a phobia of velvet! Last year I got over the hill magnifying geek glasses which were worn by all visitors and caused a lot of amusement but I'm utterly stuck for ideas this year. Does anyone have one?

Made me laugh but I wouldn't buy one

We used to have a family challenge of who could buy the worst dress or ornament we could find at the local charity shops (if you are gonna waste money might as well help the charity!).
The one that sticks in my memory is the bunch of VERY plastic, light-up, flowers. They were a sight to behold! Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!

This is a great fun idea and we do this in our family too.
I have received a pair of extremely large knickers, on! size fits all the family. A pair of floral brightly coloured sandals that seems to get passed around each Xmas and some sterident denture tablets. These are all things i really really wouldnt be seen buying. ive purchased things like a cheap plastic mac, pet toys/food, french dictionary, etc but the gift must be appropriate to the receiver. Our one rule, max spend £5.
This year i also have some cheap wind up toys. They will be wrapped ready for boxing day when there will be a lucky dip to pick your toy and then we will race them on the dining table. So far i have a wind up pair of teeth, a racing granny with zimmer frame, a duck and a couple of mcdonalds toys!!! Cant wait for a bit of competitve spirit.0 -

Hello moonpenny, the wind up teeth and racing granny came from hawkins bazar, and i have a small soldier that crawls commando style from a local independent market shop. Usually shops that sell party bag toys are a good place to start.
Good luck with your wind up races......0 -
