help finding a broker/fixed mortgage deal

Hi
Well no recommendations from family and friends as most never used one. Got a number of a fee free whole market broker in Carlton Notts. Is this what i should be looking for?
I know Brittania dont deal with brokers and just got a DIP from them on their 5.24% 5 yr fixed rate deal (fees cost about £700 incl survey). Is there anything better out there that is similar?
Any advice appreciated.

Difficult to say really, much of what the best deal available at the moment is down to lending critieria, and as we dont know anything about you or your circumstances it would be misleading if we reamed off a load of deals and you applied for them and were declined, subsequently damaging your credit rating

you are doing the right thing, hang in there for your broker but make sure you check EGG, ING Direct, HSBC, Direct Line, Yorkshire Bank, Britannia etc as they do not deal through brokers and do not come up on a brokers mortgage sourcing system

MM, you say ETC at the end of your list but how many more are there that are not covered by brokers?.Is there anywhere I can go to find a complete list?
