Fresh & Easy - Tesco

Has anyone else noticed the 'Fresh & Easy' logo on Tesco prepared salad, vegetables and chilled products?

(sorry it's so big - can't figure out how to shrink the photo!)
Anyway... I've asked a couple of members of staff from chilled and fruit & Veg section about them and the answer they have given is that they are rebranded 'market value' products.
Well, it seems rather strange that Tesco is telling customers in UK that this new 'rebranding' is to replace the cheaper end range as over in USA 'Fresh & Easy' is the name for Tesco! My sister lives in California and took me into one when I went on holiday.

I'd be interested if anyone else has noticed the influx of Fresh & Easy products too?

This is a MSE forum - we're probably too busy growing our own salad and peeling our own spuds to buy pre-packed!

Odd, F&E reminds me more of a Waitrose than a Tesco so as a budget brand here doesn't make 'global' business sense!

Maybe Cheap 'n Easy would be more appropriatelil.smartie wrote: »Odd, F&E reminds me more of a Waitrose than a Tesco so as a budget brand here doesn't make 'global' business sense!

It just made me wonder why? Maybe it is to 'connect' the Fresh & Easy name with Tesco over here in UK to make it a more well known globally!DEBT FREE BY 60Starting Debt 21st August 2019 = £11,024

It's because Fresh & Easy aren't making money, so they license the brand for Tesco to use which puts more money into Fresh & Easy (even though it's owned by Tesco!)
There's a story about it here http://www.guardian.co.uk/business/2012/oct/17/tesco-fresh-easy-brand-ukUse of the brand name could trigger a royalty payment to the US chain that could help improve its financial performance.0 -

That's merely a suggestion by a 'retail analyst' - "Tesco declined to comment on the financial arrangements". Or it might be that Tesco simply want to preserve and protect the 'Free and Easy' trademark in the UK.0 -
Last week they were selling off all the "Simply Cook" range, it said on it "soon to be Fresh & Easy".
