No, this is what I paid. Maybe more than some people would be comfortable with, but I started them in September and have picked up bits and pieces here and there so haven't really noticed any big expenditure really. Quite happy with the amounts. If I had bigger baskets I would have spent more easily.
Sorry my mistake. I was going on you saying that you'd done 10 in total and spent around £160. I agree that they look classy and expensive and the mark up to buy one looking similar would be enormous.

What size baskets have you used? I've been looking online for some but i'm clueless as to what size to buy. Your baskets look an ideal size :)

nahnahnat - I got them from an ebay seller called homeallure and they were £5.95 each. If I remember correctly I think I used the £5 eBay voucher to get it, and OH's to get the other one! It states the medium size is 32.5w x 23.5d x 9.5h cms. Hope this helps.

Thank you bladerunner - will check them out!

Spendless - sorry, I'm not sure if I'm mistaken too :rotfl: I'm not making 10 hampers, just 2. Each one was £50ish.

Maybe I should start doing this professionally :rotfl:

This is my 3rd year doing hampers, I thought I wouldnt this year because its been done before but the family love it and it works out good value. for 10 people (8 adults 2 kids) I have worked out the whole budget will be about £160 at the most working out £16 a head - so pleased :)
I was thinking if you'd spent over £50 each on 2 hampers and were doing another 8 then you hadn't much of your budget left for the others. Hence I thought you were giving total cost rather than the spend. I should learn to read the posters name, not just the posts. :rotfl:
  • They look beautiful! Can I ask where you got the wax coal? x
