Who to contact, incorrect prize sent.

Last month I won a dress from one of the magazine dailies, had to chase them after not hearing after 5 weeks, got an email last week asking me to select dress and email my choice to them which I did.

Have received the dress today, correct size & style but wrong colour, if it was for myself I wouldn't be bothered, but it's for my daughter's prom, she wanted the nude beige colour and they have sent a very dark moss green colour so is not suitable.

Would it be rude to ask them if they would mind changing it, and do I contact the magazine, or the company that sent it?

I Won the same comp and received my dress today first thing I did was check the size. If it was me I might try exchanging it at the store, as many places do exchanges without receipt. Or contact them see if they can send you the right one and bring the other to local store. What a shame hope you sort it.

If I lived close I would have tried, but we had to take a train to Cardiff which we did specially, to make sure whichever one she liked fitted. It would be a bit of pain to take a train up again, do you think I should contact Lipsy or the mag?

In my couple of wins from the dailies, I got this in the WEM:

So if it was me, I'd read my WEM and do it that way. I had a problem with one of my wins, and the person I emailed was very quick and helpful

I should have said if there is a local store nearby, I suppose they might not have it in stock anyway even if there was. I would contact them then directly to say they have sent the wrong one maybe resend the email you send with the detail showing the colour you asked for (just copy the Mag in) I am sure it wont be difficult for them to sent a replacement, and then you could just send back the dress they sent you. I hope you sort it out it is a dissapointment that it is not the right one.

After 2 emails, I have had a response. Sorry for mix up but dress I wanted is no longer available (although it was when I sent my request). I can send dress back and choose another although there are none in the correct size that DD likes. Lovely win but a very disappointing outcome.

That's disappointing. Probably not much they can do now but would have helped if they'd just sent the right dress in the first place. Hope your DD gets something she wants in the end and that you can still get something out of this prize.
