still in dilema...

hi guys, it's me again. i still am unable to get a plan sorted with payplan (i will be calling them tonight). i still have debt with barclays and barclaycard. my other creditors have agreed to a £1 payment plan but the other two wont budge!

barclays contacted me saying that my accounts are frozen and i will be contacted shortly. this was nearly a month ago and i have had no contact from them in any form since the initial letter! with barclaycard mercers wrote yesterday they are going to tell barclaycard to sell the debt - EEK!!! -

if payplan cant help me i really dont know what to do. my SOA is on here somewhere but just seems that no one is doing anything, payplan, barclaycard or barclays...

also, can i claim my bank charges whilst setting up a payplan and whislt my business loan account is frozen awaiting instructions???

many many thanks and sorry if its a bit jumbled, i'm at work feeling a bit stressed!
mike.

i sorry i can't recall your details but do repost if you wish.

basically, if all you can afford to pay is a nominal £1 then there is nothing that payplan or anyone else can really do.

you just need to keep sending your £1 to each of your creditors. its very likely they will all default your accounts and will sell the debts off to debt collection agents.
thats just normal. it may seem rather scary but in many ways once the debt is sold off its gets easier and they are usually willing to agree F&F settlements if your circumstances change

Hi Mike, not sure of the answer to your questions, so I'm just really bumping your thread so the 'afternoon' people can have a look.

Try not to get too stressed, from everything I've read on this forum, it does seem that this is the worst bit, as you are sort of in limbo, waiting for people to agree to what you have offered. It WILL sort itself out in the end though, and you can only pay what you can afford.

    Take care x

Edit - was beaten to it by Clapton, sorry!

Generally, you are doing the right things, and your issues will sort themselves out eventually. Even though barclays & barclaycard haven't accepted pay them the £1 anyway.

    Have you posted your SOA?

i can afford more than one pound but it seems that everything has been up in the air for so long now. do you not think that payplan wil be able to help? originally they said they could not help because i had to make three payments on my business loan. it was on a payment holiday for seven months and when it came round to making the first payment i couldn't. so now it's doing what it's doing... my case manager at payplan said she may be able to sort out a plan early but i haven't heard anything, hence calling them tonight.

    thanks so far.
  • You can definitely reclaim your bank charges no matter what. You will probably need another bank account somewhere else in case your original account gets closed down, though I believe I read that courts were now taking a very dim view of this too.

hi guys. paypal told me to pay barclays the full monthly ammounts and they cant help... they cannot help until i pay atleast three installments on my loan. i cant afford them, it's £333 a month!!!!! so i'm gonna have to wait for barclays to set one up with them. meanwhile i'm gonna think about claiming the charges back... that would help a lot.

should i look at another payplan company (ccs is it or something like that) or would they say the same?

    Hi.

I would say CCCS. I tried them years ago when i had a semi LBM. Was not really committed then. I myself have now gone with Payplan but at the end of the day you can do a DIY DMP. There are loads of people on here doing the same. Whatever you choose good luck.
