  • Thank you Im already starting to feel so much better!!

I will definitely speak to DH about the british legion, he did give the army 9 years of his life so hopefully will be entitled to something!! It was difficult for him to get a tidy job on civvy street at first, after all he hadn't done a job interview for years!

On the upside the council I work for is having a job evaluation scheme and my manager definitely thinks that my grade will be risen as I do loads more than my grade is supposed to!! Hopefully in 6 months time I will have been given a payrise which will help!!

I can't wait to see what the childcare vouchers do to my payslip, they told me this morning that I will save approx £74 each month and so will DH if he does the same too.

Thank you again, hopefully DH and I are on the road to a more manageble financial future!!

  • Hi,

Bad news I'm afraid. According to my calcs you are overspending by at least £7.43 per week (you excluded many items from your SOA). That excludes food too, so you cannot afford to eat. Some serious cutbacks are essential to generate about £100 per week for you all to eat and have some social life.

Please follow everyones' advice, but you need to pay particular attention to cutting childcare and one of the cars will need to go. Focus on cutting the big items first then the little ones. Do not consolidate or borrow any more money. Cut, cut, cut.

You need to do the SOA again to include real car costs including petrol. I've included nominal r taxes and MOTs.

Good luck, the figures for now are as follows:

    income weekly monthly
    self 922.00
    partner 1250.00
    ben 17.45

    Hi,

You mentioned you have tried applying for lower rate/0% credit cards, but have you phoned your credit card companies and requested a lower rate? Its worth a try. Pretend to them that you are looking to switch the balance elsewhere and ask them if they are prepared to offer a lower rate to keep your custom.

    Good luck
:D Thanks to MSE, I am mortgage free!:D
