i remember doing this last year but new to it, so if only do 2 challenges thats ok? also what do the points do? dont know where to look to see how many i have.. so by doing challenges you are entered into the draw?

Fine to only so 2 challenges but obviously the more you do the more points you have.
The points give you entries into the weekly prize draw and also the main prize draw at the end of the competition.
Your points should show up once you log-in.
