... I would be interested in making my own.
The basic Irish cream liqueur recipe goes along these lines there are a few with minor tweaks people have made to suit their taste but they are all very similar.

Adding eggs to the above recipe as per the recipe in the link below is one of the few tweaks which actually does make a big difference. It results in a much thicker, creamier & richer drink but obviously raw eggs are something many peeople choose to avoid consuming.

None of the recipes taste identical to Baileys despite what many recipe writers claim but they are still pretty good & are easily tweaked so you can create any variation you can think of.
Home made cream liqueurs should be refrigerated & used within a month or so. As inline mixers are not available for domestic use it is nigh on impossible to emulsify the alcohol & cream as thouroughly as it is done commercially so the cream will not be preserved in a sufficiently stable solution to store at room temperatures. Along similar lines sodium caseinate is not typically added to home made versions so the cream & alcohol may separate in the bottle, a good shake should recombine it if that happens.0 -
Thank you for the receipes I will give them a go :j0

Clothes Golden Rule: Never pay full price unless it is an utter bargain in the first place!
Sales, boots, charity shops, ebay- why would anyone ever pay full price for anything??!0 -
I love Baileys but its a little expensive. I buy Aldi's version (called Ballycastle).., they do a super strong one for £5.99 (higher alcohol content) and a standard one for £3.99 for 70cl. It doesn't have yukky wine added, and to me, is the closest thing to actual Bailey's I have found.
I used to just drink it at Christmas. Now I buy some every couple of weeks if I can.
Will be buying lots next week lol.0 -

I bought a bottle of the Specially Selected variety at £5.99 on Thursday and, of course, had to sample some straight away! I shall definitely be buying more! I have had the standard variety previously and, whilst it's ok, this one is so much better."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -
