Hi, I have been looking at possibly upgrading my 3 year old Oral B Professional Care 1000 electric toothbrush. I have seen the Oral B Professional 5000 but I am not convinced it offers anything more than a few extra cleaning modes and a wireless timer thingy. I suppose my question is does the Professional 5000 actually clean better i.e. more pulsations etc?
Thanks in advance

Hi, I don't know if you have already upgraded but I have purchased one today and can let you know once I've tried it out. There are quite a few offers on Oral B around at the moment (I got mine from John Lewis) for around £80. There are two versions which are out at the moment, the Triumph 5000 and the new Trizone 5000. They both have the same handle according to Oral B Customer Services which means that they can take each other's brush heads. The Trizone 5000 comes with a new Trizone brush head which is supposed to remove more plaque than a conventional oscillating brush head (according to Oral
. Also both models have a 'Platinum' award from the British Dental Health Organisation (I don't know how relevant this is).
I'll let you know what I think of it once it's charged and I've used it.0
