I would suggest you discuss with your doctor"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

There is no such thing as being registered disabled so not sure what you mean by that. I presume that you have a long term condition which restricts you.
Not an expert but I would think that you could stay on sick leave until you go on maternity leave.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.
I can bear pain myself, he said softly, but I couldna bear yours. That would take more strength than I have -

Really?? I've heard that term used a lot. *goes to check*
There's definitely 'registered blind'.*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

It seems there IS such a thing...

Actually most of those searches show that in the majority of cases there is no such thing anymore.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Still think 'there's no such thing any more'?
And if you're 'not an expert', why jump in to make out the OP is talking rubbish??*Look for advice, not 'advise'*

I said in the majority of cases. A few local authorities still do but there is no central register.
I'm no expert on pregnancy and ill-health issues but tried to help while all you've done is argue about terminology.Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

Registering as disabled became obselete under the DDA, though some LA do still allow you to register.
gestational diabetes isnt usually covered under the DDA though as it isnt long term, i amsuming the OP has other problems.0 -

Agreed - only a small handful of local authorities still do this. It's more widespread to keep a register of visual impairments.
Most stopped doing it in the 90s, yet people still insist on using that expression! Even official forms say it, and I have to write disabled yes, registered - not for 20 years!"There is no medicine like hope, no incentive so great, and no tonic so powerful as expectation of something better tomorrow." - Orison Swett Marden0 -
Hi thanks for the discussion above! Really could do without picky people!
Yes I have other disabilities- a chronic lung condition with COPD. Also thyroid problems.
The diabetes is on top of it all making me feel 50 times worse!
I really want to work but feel I just can't make it in as the mornings I feel like I've had a good old drinking session the night before.
What will happen to my maternity pay from my employer will it still be paid as full or will it go on an average of what I've worked over the past few months??0
