hiya
I have recently had some work done, and as part of the fire regs all the doors now BANG shut with these chain closures, sooo, I've been making doorstops.
the fabric kind in a pyramid for the lounge (easy) using leftover fabric from the lounge curtains
dd chose a gromit stuffed toy which has been emptied and filed with rice...her own guard dog!
we have a warthog stuffed toy as above,
BUT for the dining room, I want a chicken one like this: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=017&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=270107262070&rd=1&rd=1 but obviously so do lots of epople judging by what the pattern ( a magazine cutting for goodness sake!) went for...
so
does anyone have a chicken doorstop pattern? I've looked online, but the couple I've found are not funky shaped, more traditional! Can anyone help me in my OS doorstop quest??!!
thanks

Hi
There is a pattern for this in Womans Weekly, if you have problems getting a copy, I'll be happy to send you mine.

Wow, can't believe how much that pattern made! It looks simple enough to do without a proper pattern; just an oval shape for the bottom and two side pieces which you could copy from the illustration... I'd be tempted to make my own pattern if I were you.0

Was that in this weeks issue?Hardup_Hester wrote: »Hi

Yes it is the Womans weekly pattern on Ebay, it's this weeks issue & the magazine cost me £1.20.
I'm happy to post it to anyone who wants it & I won't charge!!!

OMG do you think the winning bidder thought they were buying the actual doorstop??
It is very funky though i can see why you would want to make it....womans weekly seems the way to go...**Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened!**

I think I'm in the wrong job, working full time for £12k a year, if people will pay £5:50 for a couple of pages torn out of a magazine, maybe I'll put some of my craft patterns on ebay!

Hi Clara
I've replied to your message, I can't believe the nerve of some people, selling the pattern on Ebay for £5.50, or the daftness of the person who bought it.
Hugs Hester

Hi Hester-sorry to be a pain but have been looking for this magazine today and no luck!!Would you mind letting me know if this is a special version??The only one i can find for this week was 76p.This would be a great thing for my DD and i to make as presents for Christmas. Thanks in advance0

we have that type of door. The joiners made the spring really tight so that they shut with a big bang. The springs can be taken out with a special small tool and adjusted, so that the door closes more gently. We can hear the big bangs from next door but ours are fine now. You still have to prop the door open though
The doorstops sound nice. I have 3 dogs and a hedgehog so far (not hm)0
