I got some fresh yeast yesterday - the baker at my local supermarket gave it to me for free. I intend to try and make naan breads today.
I originally was going to ask on here how long fresh yeast lasts but when I got up this morning I found my husband had put the bag in the fridge! Will this have killed it?
I know nothing about fresh yeast as have only ever used dried yeast before.

The world is over 4 billion years old and yet you somehow managed to exist at the same time as David Bowie

No - the yeast will be fine in the fridge. It only lasts a couple of weeks at best though. If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

My husband freezes fresh yeast and gets decent results with it on defrosting. This always amazes me, but it works. it lasts a few months this way.0 -
