It does not really work that way, she could owe the HMRC £400,000
I know this does not feel good, but I fear you will have to accept it. I would imagine the solicitor will come back with a cheaper policy now you have had a moan up...I am a Mortgage Broker

But she doesn't owe HMRC or anyone else anything!! We're the same, we have a mortgage, if we want anything else we save up for it, we don't have loans and credit cards are cleared every month.
I won't give this up without a fight!!0 -
If the lender want it then youy must get it. As I said earlier finding a new lender will cost more than the policy.
The not going bankrupt line may be true as of today but who knows what the situation will be in a few years time.
Go back to the solicitors and see if there is a cheaper policy available. If you don't want to pay it then spend more monry on an alternative lender.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
