Best to ask your employer this, if the extra hours are just a temporary thing then I would think that your holiday would be based on the contractual hours, but you are saying these are new contracted hours albeit temporary, that being the case I would have thought you would have got extra - pro-rata - for these few months.

But your employer is the best person to ask and get a definitive answer.
Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.
  • The amount of holiday you are entitled to will be based on the holiday you have accrued. So until last week you would have accrued holiday hours based on your old hours, and from last week you will be accruing holiday hours based on your new hours.

So that's how you PAY for your holiday.

If you are now being paid for more hours a week, you will of course use that many hours in your holiday leave. Which is what I think you are asking. Perhaps an example will make it clearer.

From 1st Jan to 21st Oct Susan worked 20 hours a week. From 21st Oct to 20th Dec she worked 40 hours a week.

She went on holiday from 7-13 Nov inclusive. Because she was being paid for 40 hours a week in this period, this was 40 hours of holiday.

OP, if you don't have enough hours of holiday left to 'pay' for your week's holiday, you could always ask your employer if you can take some of it as unpaid leave.
