Did I read you have a Mortgage Promise with Halifax?

I'd try a search on that, as you may not have the kind of guarantee of a mortgage you think you have...

I asked the advisor if they had carried out the credit check, they advised they had carried out a credit check and I had been approved for said mortgage, which would be available for 3 months, after which I would need to re-apply with another credit check.

    Hopefully this is correct!!

They have carried out " a " credit check, not " THE " credit check. Read kingstreets link above it explains the situation perfectly.

Not doubting what he says, just stating what I was told by the advisor!

Fingers crossed it gets approved when the time comes then

He's not an adviser just a salesmen and will tell you anything that he thinks you'll want to hear.

All we are saying is don't get your hopes up as many applications fall out of bed at the full application stage because a full search reveals defaults exactly like the ones you have. It would be remiss of any "adviser" not to tell you that at the outset.
