Bank Calls Us??

Had a call tonight from our bank,

asking us to go in as they wish to upgrade our bank account from the basic type?

is this normal practise?

Its all in order so no worries there, just thought it was upto you to decide if you wanted any extras etc.

thanks

Watch them, they will want more money from you in one way or another.

Why else would they phone you?

Sounds like they're sitting on the river bank with a big net/fishing rod trying to reel in anything that goes past and takes the bait.

Perhaps that particular branch is underperforming? Why should you go out of your way to get charged more money for nothing????

I would say that if you dont go in keep a close eye on the statements and make sure they dont upgrade anyway. Are you able to tell us what bank it is?

They want to upgrade your basic account without charges to a Premium one with charges, ignore them, banks rarely give anything away.;)

Maybe it is one with a cheque book/debit card (Current account) rather than just with a cash card (Basic Account). When I was upgraded they did not charge me anything extra, all it was that I had been running my account in good order and they had seen this. I am notsue o the other banks just don't sign up to Additions with Barclays unless you realy think it will be beneficial to you first.
