    Not illegal.

A far higher percentage of cyclists use the roads without any care compared to motorists.

Citation needed, or is this your personal opinion?

Its rare to see a cyclist stop at a red light for instance. Although im sure that all the stoppers will suddenly be the members here.

    Again, based on what evidence?

Cyclists thinking they should undertake where there isn't space in queues...

It's called filtering. It's perfectly legal and done by motorcyclists and scooter riders too.

Cyclists in general are a greater risk to themselves than motorists.

I agree - there's no possible way a cyclist can be any danger to motorists, but I don't think you meant that...
    It's only numbers.

This has happened to me while driving a car just before a left turn. My bonnet was next to the drivers window as he pulled away, clearly without checking.

Oh look. A post combining public transport and cycling. Thats novel.

And don't get me started on horse riders. Going all slowly and not picking up their poop!

Very good point. Dog owners have to pick up their dogs mess but a horse can do a HUGE dump in the road or wherever they feel like and it's perfectly acceptable to leave it there

IMO mobile phones fine, anything with earphones is utterly stupid and suicidal on busy roads.

I can't remember ever being undertaken, between me and the kerb, by a motorcyclist or scooter rider. Is this something other contributors have encountered I wonder?

Motorbikes tend to do it between 2 lines of traffic rather than the kerb. I THINK legally its the same thing.

They do indeed. I often pull aside if i see one coming though, same with cyclists, I don't understand the logic of stopping someone else who can proceed.

Mind you, if I pass a cyclist i will inevitably "speed off" to the lights - I guess I'm taking the gamble that they might actually change to green and I can proceed. I don't know why some cyclists see this as odd.
It's almost a parallel to filtering - "why do cyclists filter only for me to pass them again during the next section of open road" - cyclists have the same pre-occupation with being in front of/catching up as motorists it would seem.

Oh and to the poster who pulled up my "cyclists committing absolute offences" with motorists speeding - fair call. Logic blind spot nailed.

Because they will probably get to their destination quicker. Cars probably won't. In city traffic.

Sometimes cars will though. Hence why they do it.
Quite why cyclists worry about it though is the key issue.
