A quick question about the Adams storecard

I've just been catching up on some much needed filing, and noticed that I haven't received a statement for my Adams storecard since 6th Feb. That means that March's is definately missing, and April's could possibly be in the post.

I know that there's some discussion about Adams stores and whether they've gone into liquidation - I know the store in Cardiff has closed down, but would this have a bearing on their statement production?

I don't want to call them because I'm worried they'll confirm my fear that they've sold the debt on (although they agreed to a new repayment scheme in January).

What do you think?

I can't answer the specific question but I do know that most store cards are actually operated by finance companies not by the stores themselves so if Adams have gone into receivership or whatever it shouldn't really affect statement production. As far as callig them is concerned, you are worrying about it, if you call them you will be able to put your worries aside once you understand what is happening.

Thanks NearlyRich. I know I should ring them but if they confirm that the account has gone to a DCA, then I'd worry more until the letter arrived. It's already a horrible month because because of my tax credits and child benefit being paid every four weeks, both of them are now coming in at the end of the month instead of being spread throughout. I think I should stop worrying and wait until the letter or statement arrives.

    Thanks again.

Oh well - I needn't have worried (yet!). I've just received this month's statement, so I guess the last one must have been lost in the post.
