Useful attachments for Kirchenaid?

Options
I am giving my daughter a Kitchenaid for her 21st next month, and wondered whether there are any attachments which are particularly good, as I thought that I might be able to get her one form her Christmas. I suspect that she will use it 99% of the time for baking

Comments

  • I find the flat beater, wire whisk and dough hook that come with the mixer get the most use for everyday use.
I also have the food grinder, sausage stuffer and pasta attachment. Out of these three, I only really use the pasta attachment which is brilliant. The pasta attachment is quite expensive but it is really well made.
I guess it all depends on what kind of cooking and baking your daughter does. I hope she enjoys her birthday present, if she enjoys baking it will get a lot of use :).

I bought a beater blade, its basically a flat beater but with rubber edges so you don't need to keep stopping the motor to scrape down the bowl. Its not an official Kitchen Aid attachment but I've had mine for a year and its still fine
  • Floyd - Kitchenaid actually do their own beater with the rubber edges - I bought one in the US last year and love it - haven't used the normal beater since although hubby complains that he is redundant from the bowl licking role now as it is so good:D

I've recently bought the Ice Cream maker attachment which I'd coveted for some time. I haven't had time to use it yet so can't comment on how good it is however I bought based on recommendations from several ladies I met in the US last year.

Great thanks for that scottishminnie, they didn't do an official one when I got mine so now I know what to ask for from Father Christmas!
