I posted earlier about my Payplan pack, well thyet have well and truly messed up our figures, i have just been going through them. Debts that belong to me on my OH's paperwork and debts that belong to my OH on my paperwork!!!
They have also asked for a letter from my husband's empployer to say that his employment will not be in jepordy should he go ahead with an IVA, he is now panicking because he works for the courts, yet nothing on mine??
Why is this so hard?

Hi Msflowerfairy, sorry you are having problems with them - have you tried contacting them to sort it out - generally they are very well thought of on here. It might be because he works for the courts that they have asked for confirmation from his employers (one of my friends works for the courts and is always saying she can't do this or that because it could get her the sack) - if you're in a different line of work, it might be that normally, your job wouldn't be placed in jeopardy by entering into an agreement of this kind?"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250

Could it be that they are concerned that having money troubles, which is the case if you are going into an IVA, may leave him open to being bribed or something. You will have to look at the terms and conditions of his contract. I have a police man friend, and he can't go bankrupt/do an IVA, because it potentially puts him at risk. However he could do an DMP because this is informal.
sorry I can't be more positive

I own a debt advice company and can advise that Police Officers can enter IVA's as can all armed forces personnel. They cannot go bankrupt, that is what puts their jobs in jeopardy.
I have dealt with debtors who work in the court service and IVA's or Trust Deeds (Scotland) have not affected their employment. I hope this helps.0 -
Thanks for the replies, i have spoken to Payplan, and i feel so much better.
My OH has talked to his line manager, and she said that she will write him a letter, and that she has spoken to a LOT of civil servants in the same position, so not to worry.
I am going to spend tonight collating the paperwork, and send it all off as soon as possible.
Big kisses to you all xx0 -
I'm glad you managed to speak to them and are feeling better about it all. Good luck with all the paperwork!"I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
