A 600 pound kilt:eek::eek::eek:
That's what they cost for a proper made to measure one in a decent weight of cloth using one of the less common tartans. And made properly of course with all the traditional techniques and hand finishing. You can buy off the peg ones much cheaper of course, especially in one of the common generic tartans and in lighter weight fabric. And you can buy a tourist one in acrylic for £50 I belive. :eek:
But given that a kilt can last a lifetime of weddings, parties and rugby matches up here it's good cost per wear. My OH was given his first one for his 21st birthday and it lasted for 30 years till he expanded too far, hence a new one. Our DS is wearing his old one now and I don't see him getting a new one anytime soon, he may need to wait till he inherits his dad's second one!Val.0
