Quorn Bacon

Sorry if this isn't the correct place to post this!
I regularly buy quorn bacon but I am finding it never lasts as I have to totally defrost all of it just to use one or two slices! Does anyone else buy it and if so do you have any ideas on how to separate it without having to use it all?

Couldn't you de-frost then re-package it and back into the freezer.
I do this with Heron mis-shaped bacon though get this from the chill counter.0 -
On the rare occasion I've bought it I've just separated the frozen rashers with a knife.Science adjusts its views based on what's observed.
Faith is the denial of observation, so that belief can be preserved.

that's amazing, I took my pack out of the freezer last night to defrost it !! I was thinking the same, why aren't the slices separated by paper?Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0

Just so people know, Heron are currently stocking frozen Quorn Bacon for a £1 as well as a few other Quorn products and Cauldrons Aduki Bean Kievs (delicious!!).
As to your question, I use a knife or when I've been a while at the shops it partially defrosts anyway so I separate it and put it in the freezer in cling film0 -
As it's not meat i can't see any harm in refreezing once the slices are separated0
-
beforeyou freeze put backing paper between slices and then freeze thenthis way they dont stick0

I'm pretty sure it says on the pack that it's safe to refreeze after defrosting. Leave it out of the freezer enough to get a hot knife between the rashers and then pop a bit of cling film between themto keep them seperate. Just make sure they lay flat when they go back in the freezer0

I emailed them before moaning about how I was fed up with when I tried to separate them I kept snapping bits off and they sent me a very sarcastic email back telling me to read the box! Supposedly you can defrost the lot and then re-freeze...bit of a pain but I can't see any other way round it:rotfl:0

I partially defrost it in ther microwave to get off the amount I need then pop it back in the freezer. I've been doing this for ages and never had a problem.0
