Forgotten bottle of wine in freezer....

So I put a bottle of white in to chill and um (usually unheard of) forgot it until 6 hours later when it was frozen solid.

It has defrosted overnight in the fridge - any ideas if being frozen would have been incredibly detrimental to the taste? Before I open it.....

Just don't want to waste a £10 bottle of wine (even though I only paid £5 for it).

any past experiences would be gratefully received....

I have frozen wine to the point of almost freezing solid and then had a wine slushy (was not intending it to freeze but forgot how long it had been in the freezer) while having a bath and reading my book and it was yummy

If in doubt try it and then using in cooking if you are not 100% happy with its taste.

Yes, i have done the same, definately recommend wine slushy (also recommend vodka slushy, with nearly freezing cranberry, maybe adding orange). One thing i would say, unless you totally defrost before you open, i would stand it in something, as the wine expands and pushes out of the bottle as it defrosts.

We had frozen cava for my brothers 18th birthday. We had a party and did the old we'll just put all the cava in the freeze to chill for a short time...totally forgot about it and then when it came to the toasts we all had this sort of slushy drink! Tasted fine but was very cold!
