I need employment help !!!!
snuffly
I work for Aldi ( for my sins) as a Deputy manager.
During June and July, i was at points being made to work 60-80 hour weeks. ( i was told it was part of being a deputy manager)
I have been unpaid for 48 normal pay hours, and 37 hours at deputy rate. i told my manager at the time about this, and it was loosely stated that he had to jiggle the figures to make sure he got the figures the store needed ( productivity) this meant i lost out on a bonus also.
It is now almost Nov, and i still have not received this money ! My area manager wants me to prove i worked it ( there is no clocking in system ) and my manager promises month after month to sort it. Now they are stating i messed it myself, by having 3 days off with a poorly 3 yr old last month, so this is my fault ?????
I am having a full hysterectomy in 2 weeks time, and am unwell, the worry of this is exhausting. I have had bank charges, had to cancel the 3 yr olds birthday party, and my employer does not care. I really need some help people..... before i lose it all
( sorry to ramble) xx

I think you can say goodbye to any payment for the additional hours you worked. It would have been far fairer of your manager to explain upfront that you need to work the hours necessary to do the job and that any extra isn't paid, just covered in your base salary. Welcome to management. Sorry.
Most important is to get yourself ready for your operation and try to put this out of your head, I assume that you get sick pay so at least you know you can take some time off and recuperate properly.0 -
I agree.
Also, I would edit your post to remove the employer's name.0 -
I am not on a salary though
I am hourly paid, and should get paid the full amount 0 -

You can fight this to the bitter end, with complants to HR and potentially court. However, this is likely to spoil your relationship with the company and hurt your future employment prospects with them.
If recovering this money is not a life or death situation, I'd say let it go.
Have a serious discussion with your manager about how you will log and keep track of hours in the future and try to get it written down in an amended contract. Make sure that if a similar situation arises there is no room for "negotiation". Start keeping a personal logbook. It's not proof that you worked the hours it says but it's better than nothing.
Also keep scanning the job market for positions that fit your skills. Once you find something better, ditch them and don't look back.0 -
I'd echo the advice to edit your first post. There can't be that many people working in your job role for your company, with your medical conditions, and who've recently taken time off for the family reasons you've given. It's *easily* enough to identify you to your employer - and employers don't tend to take kindly to that sort of post.
I think your key problem is going to be proving the hours you say you worked. If you can't, then if you kick up a stink you'll be a troublemaker who wasn't paid for your hours. As it is, you're a hardworking team player who wasn't paid for your hours.
The time you took off for family reasons - was that paid or unpaid? If paid, I can sort of see your employer's point (though the two time periods don't add up).0 -

This is too bad . You can report your boss /company for this. They should not treat you like you never worked for them.0 -
