I would never buy pick and mix I used to work at wilkinons and one of my jobs was filling it up the amount of people who used their hands instead of tongs is unreal.I have also seen people cough or sneeze into their hands then put them in also children take on out suck it and put it back.I used to tell them off but just got abuse back.also one time we had to throw all the sock away because it was infested with bugs.So I will never buy or let my son have it

Also most of the time new is put on top of old so going to the back still means you will get ones someone has has their hands all over.

Oh dear lord! you have never seen so many sweets fit in to one cup! I have found what my son is best at in the whole world, I thought (hopefully) that it was going to be maths or slightly more disappointingly xbox "gaming" but no, it's actually fitting pick and mix in a cup. He tipped it out in the bowl at home and it's like someone emptied a Tardis.

    Wow.

Oh btw, they're still doing it today, we bought ours just now. I had an XL cup of Smarties, I must have over a pound of them :)

(Edit: I weighed them, 1.75 pounds, lol)

Was coming to post a similar experience, but experienced at a Tourist Attraction, not Wilkos.

The bug day was a particularly bad day when the containers had to be cleaned.

I used to love pick and mix from woolies, but seeing the stock being mauled day in day out by customers whose hands had just been touching fish and crabs, then used to pick their sweets, or kids licking and replacing, or people using their own hands to root through the tub for the biggest ones...

I never EVER have pick and mix any more and my poor kids just don't get to experience the fun it is :o
