He pays all the mortgage and doesnt ask for a contribution
?!?!?
and you pay all the other bills (which by your own admission amount to ALL your wage) and don't ask for a contribution.0 -
That was probably worded wrongly on my part- its not that he doesnt ask for a contribution - I used to pay part of the mortgage, then reduced my hours at work to keep kids after school and so couldnt afford to so it was agreed that I pay food bills, phone bill, tv lic and rates. I understand where you are coming from and value your advice, but it took a lot of courage on my part to post on here and criticism of my DH wasn't what i was expecting. I know ours isnt an ideal situation but its what it is.0

I'm not critisicing your DH, please don't take it like that.
What I'm trying to say is that the best way I can see of improving your families finances is to involve him, and maybe rework out, how you divde the I pay, you pay.0 -
My mistake sorry,I'm just a bit touchy today! and yes, I agree with the above about reworking the divide.
Thanks0 -
I popped on to tell you that I told OH - lots of tears but I'm glad I told him - I feel a lot better and this time I do want to beat the debt. My loan application has been approved and I should get the forms in tomorrows post and hopefully get on the straight and narrow. I heard of 2 promotional jobs in our office today and so am going to apply for them.
Thanks for the help so far, I may come back for more if thats ok.0 -
Hi Honey , first post on here on DFW sorry if its long, I wanted to reply yesterday but was at work so couldn't ,
Honey please tell your OH . I was an OH who was left in the dark over our debts , yes our debts .It doesnt matter who brought what we both wasted cash.
I wasnt best pleased when OH told me how much, but now I know, we are both dealing with it. Both of you working together is better. Like bandraoi says "the best way I can see of improving your families finances is to involve him, ..." , we dont have mine and hers money anymore we have OUR money to clear OUR debts.
As for increasing your income , everylittle helps.
Thanks to this site I'm now a 'clicker', I'm more of an ebayer than before, I've even been called a tight !!!! cause I read the newspaper online , but just by doing that I've saved £33.35 todate in 07. Just doing simple things adds up, we're chipping away at the debts one at a time.
Have a look around the site at all the tips, you'll find something that you can fit in with your busy life. clicks ,coupons, cashbacks, reclaiming bank charges.
The sooner your both working together the sooner you'll be debt free.
Sorry if I've gone on, I hope you find the time soon. All the best.Member of change Pip's name back to PIP club
