Hi everyone,
I currently have a 2 year fixed deal with Northern Rock at 6.19% which expires on the 1st July, returning to their SVR.
I've contacted L&C who have come up with the following from Abbey. I thought I would ask you good people if it sounds like a good deal?
My details:
NR Together Mortgage: Total outstanding of just under £116,000, 33 years left to run
House value: Around £128,000
Income: £31,500 (will be £35k by the time the mortgage goes through as I've just accepted a new job)
I have no other debt (it feels VERY good to be able to type that after years of student loans, credit cards etc  )
Abbey Offer:
5.64% on a 2 year fixed, over 30 years. No arrangement fees. Free valuation. £250 cashback on legal fees.
It's portable, which is important as my house is a 2-bed starter home and I may well want to move some time soon.
Sounds pretty good to me, but then I'm far from an expert on these things.
Any thoughts or questions to ask would be much appreciated. Actually, reading that through it might be a problem that I'm changing employer in a month from now...
Thanks

Labour are the chip on this country's shoulder. No positive vision, no aspiration, just toxic politics. Hope not hate.
